The Weekender Bag from Everlane
I have a few “weekender bags” with the smallest being an overnight bag and the largest a long weekend (3-4 days) bag. Yet, I lacked something that could fit 4+ days without having to go for a carry-on suitcase. So began the hunt for a suitable weekender bag. It’s completely unfair how many options there are for men! In my search many bags for women were floral or patterned, and I didn’t want any of that. I wanted a bag that looked sophisticated so I didn’t want your typical duffel bag from Adidas because I totally have one of those already. haha I also wanted one large enough to fit at least 4+ days worth of clothing.
Well, I settled on the bag from Everlane. There’s a good selection of colors, but I settled on blue because it’s my favorite color and I liked the color of the stripe. I like that the bags are unisex too (same bags are sold for men). The quality is great. Made of durable canvas with real leather straps, waterproof nylon lining- there is also a structured bottom which keeps the bag structured. There is an pocket on the outside big enough for say a water bottle, and a zippered pocket on the inside.
This bag is wonderfully sized. The dimensions are 22” L x 8.5” W x 12” H, which is actually just a little bit smaller than the largest carry-on you can take on an United flight (22” x 9” x 14”). I say United specifically because each airline has its own regulations (so check before you fly!). I took a few pictures to show you guys the bag and how much I can fit in it! I packed 3 pairs of pants, 3 thick sweaters, two button up shirts, two tank tops (rolled), and a light jacket. I had enough room leftover for undergarments, toiletries, and probably even a pair of shoes! Amazing!
If you’re interested in checking out Everlane and what it has to offer, click here! I should mention for those who care about quality and where things are made- most things are made in the U.S. with materials sourced from the best of the best. To get more an idea of what I mean there is info on the Everlane website, but also in this great IAMA on Reddit (thanks for the link @jonizzle!).
Let’s get to what you guys really want to know- where my clothes are from! hahaha Just kidding, but I thought I’d include it anyways. :)
Counter-clockwise from the top:
- Black jeans from Bullhead, blue stretch pant legging from Forever 21, Rockstar jeans from Old Navy (there are short inseams available for shorties like me, yay!)
- Blue oxford from Madewell, polka dot oxford from H&M
- Military green anorak from Forever 21, black infinity love tank from Brandy Melville, polka dotted tank bought in Taiwan
- Purple knit sweater from LOFT, multi-colored sweater from H&M Men’s, oatmeal knit sweater from Forever 21
Thank you for reading!
P.S. I ordered a t-shirt from Everlane before (classic women’s v in “antique”) and I really like it! $15 for a 100% cotton, pre-shrunk t-shirt made in Los Angeles is pretty awesome. I got the t-shirt in small because I don’t like my t-shirts too fitted. There’s a helpful guide to sizing (click on the small ruler by the sizes) along with pictures so you can see how the different sizes fit.
P.P.S. Let me know if any of you guys order anything! :)
