March 2011
People say I hide my stress well.
That’s surprising to me because I feel like lately I’ve been looking pretty frazzled like Ms. Frizzle’s hair*.
I’m about to burst at the seams. I’m at the end of my fuse. If anyone adds to my stress on Saturday, I swear he/she will undergo the fastest self-combustion known to man with just one look from me. >:| Outta my way, weaklings- I will have no sympathy...
They’re fucking gross, man. Look, I love beautiful girls too. I think everyone...
– Amy Poehler on American Apparel (via coketalk)
What I (Pei) have to say about this: I used to be so in awe of American Apparel clothes. When I saw a store in Austin, TX I ran in there expecting to buy a gajillion things. I bought nothing. Their stuff isn’t that special, it’s over...
"MY HAND IS A DOLPHIN!!!"
Is what my bf keeps saying to me, over and over again. hahahha Don’t know what I’m talking about? Watch this.
Superman to film in Chicago →
chicagobusiness:
The latest Superman movie will begin filming in Chicago this August. We can only hope it provides us with as many workday explosions as Transformers did.
Puffy eyes.
Ugh. Crying at night before I sleep = puffy eyes in the morning.
Boo.
Red, never black.
Ink for notes. I print out slides for lectures and they’re in black already, so if I take notes in black ink there’s just too much black everywhere and my brain gets really muddled. I tried taking notes in green- too light, and not bold enough to make my brain focus. But red. RED. Bold, scary, and a little intimidating. It stands out against the black, and my brain zooms in on it and...
One of the reasons why my cousin is such a good... →
This is actually sort of awkward because my cousin (hi Joanna!) has a tumblr so she’ll see this post of me gushing about her. :P Just check out the link to see just one of the many reasons why I admire her so much!
A little push.
I notice that there are a lot of things I start off strongly disliking before even knowing more about it. I don’t know why, that’s just how I am. Fortunately, I’ve been lucky to have people in my life that are adamant and make sure I try everything out, or I eventually succumb to curiosity and try it out. Result? I would say 90% of the time I end up loving whatever I hated....
More healthy eats!
Watermelon juice, lime juice with honey. NOMMM DELICIOUSSSS!
And three cup chicken. Not necessarily healthy, but still yummy!
Healthy Eating
I get to try some of my dad’s strict, but super healthy diet when I come home. It has only been a day, and already SO HEALTHY. lol First was carrot juice with honey and lemon. Second was a Chinese herbal soup that was stewed for two hours. -____- It had two types of beans (I think they’re beans) that I normally eat in a sweet dessert soup. This time it was in a salty soup stewed with...

Alexandra Wallace, shame on you. →
Alexandra Wallace is a political science major at UCLA. She posted up a video on YouTube (that has since been removed, but re-posted by others) in which she complains about hordes of Asians being in the library, and just on campus in general. Completely racist and ridiculous.
My favorite line is “…checking up on people from that like tsunami thing.” Gosh, she just cracks me...
Being a leader.
There are lot of things people should do if they are a leader, or want to be.
One of those things is setting a good example.
A lot of people do things out of convenience for them, which is fine. However, when it is a colleague’s event, and not just any colleague- one you’re on a board with, people should go. Even if it means having to get up early despite the fact you went out the...
Bangladeshi court sets date for microcredit... →
Yunus is a great man who trusted people, especially women to be able to help their families get out of poverty by micromanaging. I don’t think that age is a good reason to remove him from the Grameen bank. The article says some people think there are political reasons behind his removal.
Don't whiiiineeeeee to me.
If you whine to me seeking for attention, I will shut you down- you will get no love from me.
Prime examples of people whining:
Girl: Ppppeeeeeiiiiii Me: Whut. Girl: Huuggg meeeeee- I’m siiiiiccckkkkkkkkk. Me:*mumblegrumblerollseyes*

Boy: Ppppeeeeiiiii Me: *turns away to try and keep...

Tip to making perfect chocolate chip pancakes.
Whenever I make chocolate chip pancakes, I always put in the chocolate chips after I have put the batter on the pan. However, today I decided to see what would happen if I mixed the chocolate chips WITH the batter beforehand. Uh, yeah no. The pancake still tastes delicious, but you don’t get that perfect round pancake. The batter spreads out unevenly due to the odd shape of the chocolate...
Ends of a Bread Loaf
I don’t like the ends of a bread loaf, affectionately called the “butts.” One day I was hungry and didn’t have much time to cook anything so I was trying to think of something quick and easy.
This is when I got my brilliant (self-claimed) idea. I would make a panini with the butt ends of my bread! I don’t have the panini maker to smash it down, and get it all crisp...
